Pact
I think Pact is one of the easiest apps to use to make money. First off, it's available both on iProducts (iPhone, iPad, etc) and Android. Second, you can take advantage of it's features and stay healthy that way.
I've been a member of the Pact community for a while now, and I have to admit, I'm very satisfied with it. Basically, this is how the app works. When you first sign up, you give some basic information about yourself. It also asks for your credit/debit card information, or you can connect it to your Paypal. Now here's the fun part. You make a pact in the beginning of each week; basically, you're promising the app that you'll exercise for 30 minutes 7 seven days a week, or 4 days a week, whatever you feel like, log your food for however many days you like, and/or submit pictures of you eating greens (veggies or fruits). (The more days you do your Pact, the higher the payout.) Here's where it gets tricky though; at the end of the week, if you miss a single pact, whatever you pledged to pay in the beginning if you miss a pact, that's what's going to come out of your account at the end of the week (basically all transactions though come through at the beginning of the following week). So, to make this easier, I'll give an example.
I begin my pact. On Monday, I decide I want to work out seven days this week. (You only have until midnight on Monday night to modify however many pacts you want to complete during the week). I pledge $5 for every missed pact. So if I come through with all seven pacts, the following week I'll see a small payout (called earnings). BUT, if I make six pacts and miss one, I will not earn anything for exercising; rather, I will lose $5, because I pledged, from the beginning of the week, that for every Pact I miss, I will pay the Pact community $5. There are many other options, of course. You can choose to pay up to $35 for every pact you miss, which would motivate you BIG TIME to not miss a pact.
The exercise pacts have to be done in timeframes. You need to have moved around enough so that you comply with the minimum movement Pact has set per minute. They are bars. you can see the bars fill up while you're moving around. You have to make the minimum movement per minute for at least thirty minutes (within an hour and a half). If you don't move around enough for thirty minutes at least, after an hour and a half from your starting time, whatever you were able to complete will not be counted. You do not get paid extra for doing 40 minutes though; the requirement is simply 30, you will earn the same amount for that day for a 40-minute exercise if you do 30 minutes of exercise.
There are also Food Logging Pacts and Veggie Pacts.
The Food logging pacts are easy; the only thing you do is download another app called FitnessPal, and sync your "food diary" with Pact. You can "cheat" a little bit here, because it doesn't have to be day by day; you can fill out your food log for the entire week on Monday, or if you're lazy, you can do it Sunday night. It won't take long, it'll take about 5-10 minutes to log food for the entire week. But again, make sure that you've completed the pacts for all the days that you pledge, or else that's money coming out of your pocket for a simple few minutes.
The Veggie pacts I don't like too much; I used to use it, but eventually I stopped because it was bothering me. It'll tell you why. So, for Veggie Pacts, you can pledge up to 35 veggies i believe. So what you do is, for each veggie pact, you take a picture of a full serving of a fruit or vegetable and such, make sure that in the picture it is obvious that you are eating it, and post it. Once you post it, other people, the "pact community," has to approve of it. If you don't get a certain number of approvals, or if you get too many dislikes on your photo, it does not approve. So that means it doesn't count. If it comes through though, more power to you.
So that's how Pact works. I do the exercise and food logging for seven days a week, and I have my pledge at $5 a day. It doesn't sound like much, but it is a lot if it adds up. Also, if you ever miss a Pact and you contact the Pact Customer Service team by reporting an issue with your pact, they will surely figure it out and help you, they are VERY nice people. I've had instances where I needed to change my pact in the middle of the week because I would be going to camp (last minute, of course!) and I would be getting my phone taken away there (part of the camp experience is to socialize, ya know?) and so I contacted them in the middle of the week and they were able to reduce my pacts to however many I'd already done that week so I would not get fined afterwards for being away at camp.
So, that's that for now, peeps!
Hope you have fun using this app to earn some extra cash! Yes, you won't become a millionaire using this app, but it'll keep you healthy-motivated and you'll earn a penny or two, so to speak, keeping healthy!
